Annie Practices my Design 2:

Second trial of my design.

After my first design trial Annie and I were not very confident with the outcome of the look. Today when completing the trial I am now very happy with the look. Annie and I decided the white base was a bad idea because it looked really bad on my skin type and settled in the fine lines on the face. We changed this by using a full coverage foundation and concealer to help the other colours blend together well.

The next thing we adapted was the eyebrows as i felt they darkened the look too much and didn't have a very Elizabethan feel to it. Adding white mascara to the brows completely lifted the eye makeup and changed the look and i much prefer it now the eyebrows have a lot of definition and stand out from the face.

When applying the makeup Annie still used the cream bases and blended them thoroughly into the foundation. Her blending technique is very good and i am happy with the outcome of this. To prevent the creasing that occurred last time after using cream bases Annie powdered the places where the red cream product was with a  red eyeshadow and blended this out also to create a seamless look that didn't smudge and crease.

Annie and I were much happier with the look at this point but both agreed there was something missing and so decided to add the tip of a heart/ diamond to the middle of my forehead to create another heart shape and continue with the Elizabethan theme and colouring as well as adding more colour/ dimension to my face. I then pulled my hair into a middle parting in order to have a perfectly symmetrical face.
Annie and I then decided that the lips on my look were too light and so added black to the lips to  symbolise the bitterness that Lettice Knollys had in her heart towards Elizabeth and the jealousy and rivalry her and her cousin had.

Annie and I also decided we didn't want the face to be completely symmetrical as that doesn't portray lettice's character as the unbalanced person she was. So we removed the red contour from one side of the nose. This also symbolises the breaking of her heart as she lost children at young ages and during childbirth as well as her rumoured abortion.

The white slit down the eyes of my design is meant to symbolise the hope for love she has as well as a clarity and ruthless view of the world. Showing how she takes everything she wants from the world. Also showing how her personality is divided between good and bad.

Overall I am very happy with the finished and adapted design, the colour scheme and Annie's application and skill when creating and helping to adapt my makeup look. I am going to use this as my final makeup design.
